UAE AG: Omani assist pilot planned terror
The Oman airline assistant pilot on board the "Fly Dubai" aircraft was heading to carry out a terrorist plot aimed at seizing the plane and turning it into a weapon to attack the passengers' building at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, with the goal of causing significant human casualties. Investigations revealed that the 29-year-old suspect was influenced by Takfiri ideas starting in 2017 during his studies in Australia, and his extremism was linked to encouraging suicide operations and attacks by terrorists. He also adopted ideas related to the September 11 attacks and associated them with aviation operation methods. The suspect exploited his previous trips to Tel Aviv to survey possible routes, and during a flight on September 30, 2026, he attacked the pilot with a wallet and an emergency axe. However, the flight crew managed to regain control of the situation, and the plane safely landed in Tabuk. The investigations also showed that he had been working for multiple airlines since 2020 and began planning the attack after being influenced by extremist content and boxing training, with an inner conviction to carry out a suicide attack using the plane.
