Morocco: Spain Pact Not Under Threat
King Mohammed VI of Morocco pointed out that the current international cooperation model for combating irregular migration has become insufficient, despite the successes achieved by the kingdom in this area. He emphasized that while the partnership with Spain has seen developments, it still faces legal and judicial obstacles that hinder the deportation of minors and individuals seeking asylum, thereby strengthening human trafficking networks. The King confirmed Morocco's intention to present a new strategic vision aimed at promoting economic development and regional stability, calling for the launch of new national strategies in water, energy, and food security, manufacturing, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence. These initiatives aim to build national capacities, incentivize private sector investment, and create job opportunities. Additionally, the King underscored the importance of focusing on youth issues and balancing economic growth with social justice and territorial development, advocating for stronger decentralization, improved local services, and increased capacity of regions and provinces to achieve sustainable development.
