Montella leaves Turkey after poor results
The Turkish Football Federation has dismissed Italian coach Vincenzo Montella from his position as head coach of the Turkish national team, following a decline in results and performance in recent matches. Montella took over in September 2023 and achieved notable accomplishments with the team, such as reaching the quarter-finals of Euro 2024. However, he failed to maintain a consistent level of performance, especially during the World Cup and in the UEFA Nations League, where the team lost all of its recent matches. Increasing criticism and fan pressure led to the decision to sack him after a series of defeats and poor results.
