Netanyahu backs Bolsonaro Jr.
The article discusses Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's support for Brazilian presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro, who aims to win the runoff election scheduled for October 25. The report shows that Netanyahu visited Brazil, participated in events endorsing Bolsonaro, and expressed his desire to strengthen relations between the two countries, promising to fully restore trade ties if Bolsonaro wins. However, polls indicate that public confidence in Netanyahu's ability to make the right decisions on international issues is low, with 64% of Brazilians expressing skepticism. Additionally, a majority within the Brazilian political landscape opposes foreign interference. Relations between Brazil and Israel had already deteriorated during Lula da Silva's administration, amid tensions over regional policies, but Netanyahu's support for Bolsonaro remains part of an effort to boost Israel's influence in Brazilian elections.
