Captagon Pills Seized En Route to Saudi Arabia
The Drug Control Department was able to thwart several attempts to smuggle large quantities of drugs across the Syrian border. Notably, they seized over 100,000 captagon pills hidden inside the frame of a refrigerated truck at the Nasib crossing into Saudi Arabia, and apprehended the individuals involved. They also uncovered a drug trafficking network stretching from Iraq and Deir Ezzor, which resulted in the seizure of 2,500 grams of methamphetamine crystal and the arrest of its leader and members. Additionally, they intercepted an attempt to smuggle 395,000 narcotic pills from Lebanon through the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing, as well as the use of refrigerated trucks to smuggle 200,000 pills to the Gulf, with those involved being detained.
