Al-Ahly Zamalek fans pay tribute to October Victory
Before the Cairo derby between Al Ahly and Zamalek, the stadium stands at Cairo International Stadium saw both teams' fans raise banners and flags recalling the October War of 1973. Among the banners carried were messages such as "8,000 Ahly fans donate blood in the October War" and "Al Ahly demands turning the club into a center for training popular resistance," as well as references to historical moments related to the club during the war. Additionally, Zamalek's supporters displayed a picture of one of the Egyptian commando heroes wearing a Zamalek jersey. These activities took place amid both teams being tied with 13 points each before their 133rd encounter in the history of their matches.
