Drone attack near Ras Al Batin and tanker mine incident
The article explains that the attack on a oil tanker by an unmanned drone near Oman, and the collision of a giant ship with a sea mine in the Strait of Hormuz, represent a significant escalation in maritime tensions between Iran, the United States, and the region. It was announced that the tanker that hit the mine was attempting to pass through the strait after its navigation systems were shut down. These incidents caused explosions inside engine rooms, accompanied by Iranian warnings against targeting vessels that pass without permission. Sources confirmed that the situation has worsened amid regional escalation, especially after Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz and then reopened it, accompanied by threats to target ships transiting through it. Increasing maritime attacks are also contributing to disrupting maritime traffic and global energy supplies.
