EU imposes new sanctions on Russian military
The European Union has imposed new sanctions on approximately 1,600 entities and individuals connected to Russia's war against Ukraine, bringing the total to around 3,500 persons and entities, including President Vladimir Putin. The sanctions include restrictions on the production of ballistic missiles and aim to complicate Russia's ability to export weapons used against Ukraine, focusing on broad sectors of the Russian economy. This move comes amid tensions over the potential lifting of sanctions on Russian billionaires and seeks to exert greater economic pressure on Moscow, despite concerns that momentum may slow due to the economic difficulties faced by EU countries.
