Yemen seeks global support to curb Houthis
The article discusses the efforts of the Yemeni government in countering the Houthis through military and political means. It highlights the launch of Operation "Yemen Dawn" to restore state institutions and remove the group from power, as well as their designation as a terrorist organization. The movements have also focused on coordination with the international and regional communities, including calls to implement UN Security Council resolutions, especially Resolution 2216, to halt the flow of Iranian weapons, and to protect international navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. On the domestic level, the government has taken measures to enhance the readiness of military and security institutions, continuing military operations to achieve their goals and regain control over territories, while simultaneously countering the group's attempts to expand at the expense of civilians and civilian infrastructure.
