Alcaraz ousted in Shanghai third round
Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz, ranked third in the world, was eliminated in the third round of the Shanghai Tennis Tournament after losing to Belgian Zizou Bergs with scores of 7-5 and 7-6 (7-4). Despite a strong start, Alcaraz struggled with uncharacteristic errors and a lack of focus, which allowed Bergs to break his serve and take control of the match. It is worth noting that Alcaraz had recently won a title at the Tokyo tournament earlier this month after returning from a long injury, but his early exit in Shanghai reflects the difficulty he faces in regaining his top form post-injury. Bergs will now face the winner of the match between Tommy Paul and Valentin Vacherot in the next round.
