Mauritania: Ex-ministers issue farewell messages
The article discussed an unusual move in Mauritanian politics, where a number of outgoing ministers published farewell messages through the media and social networks, reaffirming their loyalty to President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani and his electoral program "My Ambition for the Nation," without mentioning the reasons for their dismissal. Among them was former Interior Minister Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed El-Amin, who highlighted achievements in security, administration, and reforms, and expressed gratitude to the president. He received recognition and met with political figures. Additionally, a new government was announced, involving changes and a reduction in the number of ministries, with several prominent ministers departing. This occurred amid an atmosphere of an unfinished national dialogue and ongoing economic and security challenges, most notably the investigation into the fire at the power stations in Nouakchott.
