Did Trump reverse on Nidal Hassan execution
Reports have confirmed that former US President Donald Trump secretly admitted his concerns about broadcasting Nidal Hassan's execution live on air, amid intense political controversy and divisions within the White House administration and Congress over the idea. The Department of Defense's proposal to transmit moments of Hassan's execution via live broadcast sparked widespread outrage, and it appears that Trump began to backtrack on the idea after facing internal and external rejection. At various stages, Trump expressed initial enthusiasm, but he became more reserved and moderate, indicating that the decision to publicly show the execution would be up to him, with the possibility of ultimately canceling it altogether. It is worth noting that live broadcasts of executions are uncommon, and this was an exceptional step, sparking debate over their morality and their impact on justice, with opinions varying between supporting them as a deterrent measure and opposing them based on humanitarian traditions.
