Ilhan Omar's home searched over old immigration files
Reports have circulated that members of the Homeland Security Investigations team raided Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's house in Washington early on October 12, 2026, as part of a criminal investigation into immigration documents her father provided on her behalf when she was a child from Somalia. The raid, which was carried out with a warrant weeks before the midterm elections, comes amid ongoing political tensions between Omar and the White House, especially due to her criticisms of the immigration policies implemented by the Trump administration. The U.S. Department of Justice or Omar's office have not yet issued any comment on the operation.
