Truck driver survives Chile floods
A truck driver escaped certain death in the Las Condes area of Santiago, Chile, after his vehicle overturned amidst rushing floodwaters and landslides caused by heavy rain. A circulating video showed how he managed to exit the truck before the waters swept the vehicle away—waters that also carried away other cars—toward the trees with great force. Authorities declared a disaster emergency in ten regions around Santiago, and rescue teams continued search and rescue operations. Residents were warned not to leave their homes due to the ongoing dangerous weather conditions. The footage highlighted the survivor's courage and emphasized the danger posed by sudden flooding and powerful currents.
