New sea route links Taizhou and Jeddah
A direct maritime shipping route has been launched between Taicang Port in eastern China and Jeddah Port in Saudi Arabia. A vessel loaded with approximately one thousand containers departed from China to Saudi Arabia, reducing shipping time to between two to three weeks and lowering logistics costs by eliminating the need for intermediate ports. The operator, Haisun, confirmed that this route enhances transportation efficiency and responds to the increasing demand for direct and efficient sea freight routes between China and Saudi Arabia, as bilateral trade continues to grow, reaching $108.2 billion in 2025, with a significant increase in China's imports of Saudi oil.
