Sudanese Foreign Minister Mahadi Dineh Salem confirmed that certain local parties are attempting to regain power by promoting false accusations that the army used chemical weapons, urging people not to adopt these misleading narratives. He explained that Khartoum rejects the U.S. sanctions imposed in July 2024, which include a ban on loans and financial aid, and that these sanctions will last for at least a year due to these allegations—despite Sudan’s denial and the announcement of a committee to investigate the claims. Khartoum also expressed its desire to establish transparent cooperative relations with France based on facts and integrity, at a time when the international community is working to unify the Sudanese people and overcome the crisis.
