Wuhan Tennis: Svitolina, Pegula Out
The second-ranked Wuhan Tennis Tournament accused Aryna Sabalenka of an early exit from the competition after her loss to American Ann Li in the second round. She experienced consecutive setbacks following her previous defeat in Shanghai, as she is struggling with a decline in her global ranking and performance, despite her fighting spirit during the match. American Jessica Pegula, the second seed, was also eliminated after losing to Latvian Jelena Ostapenko in a surprising upset. On the other hand, Polish player Iga Swiatek advanced easily after defeating Magdalena Fręch, regaining her strong form and achieving her 40th win of the year. She is aiming to participate in the season-ending Masters Tournament.
