Ukraine attacks key Russian data hub
A data center belonging to Sberbank in Russia, which hosts the country's largest supercomputer planned to be operational in 2027, was targeted by an attack from Ukraine using drones. This attack follows a series of strikes on Russian data centers aimed at enhancing Russian artificial intelligence capabilities, which face obstacles due to Western sanctions and damage to the domestic tech sector. Despite the attack, Sberbank confirmed that its systems continue to operate normally, and it remains unclear how much damage was inflicted on the supercomputers used for training AI models.
