German Defense Minister pledges to reveal violations and protect victims
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed that investigations are ongoing into misconduct by soldiers in the First Medical Battalion in Weissenfels. The allegations include drug trafficking, threats, and sexual abuse by ten suspects, some of whom are minors. The army has imposed disciplinary measures against several individuals, including bans from entering the barracks and wearing military uniform, and roughly 12 potential victims have been identified. The minister emphasized the need to punish anyone proven to be involved or covering up these violations to ensure the credibility of the forces and the safety of personnel.
