Mutawali of Taiz predicts Houthi decline
The article discusses the efforts of the Yemeni Taiz Governorate in resisting the Houthi militias and confronting the challenges imposed by the blockade and Houthi expansion, with a focus on the ultimate goal of reaching the capital, Sanaa. Governor Nabil Shamsan affirmed that the Houthis' arrival in Taiz marks the beginning of their end, and that the governorate will prevail and break its blockade, despite the humanitarian hardships intensified by the siege that prevents the delivery of food, medicine, and fuel—leading to the closure of hospitals and the disruption of water and waste services. He also praised the support of the Saudi-led coalition, considering the Houthis to be "Iranian militias" that go beyond regional objectives. He emphasized that the ultimate destination of the battle is Sanaa, with fighting continuing on multiple fronts in Taiz.
