CNN: US mulls use of Massive Bomb on Iran
The United States is considering the possibility of using the "Mother of All Bombs" (GBU-43/B) against Iranian targets, including nuclear sites and energy infrastructure, should President Trump order a resumption of military operations. This bomb is considered the largest non-nuclear weapon in the American arsenal and was previously used in 2017 in Afghanistan against ISIS. Despite its ability to destroy large areas, experts doubt its effectiveness against fortified facilities, especially in the Iranian Mount of the Axe region, as its impact may be only superficial, with concerns about civilian casualties. It is viewed as a psychological and tactical tool that provides the President with limited military options amid political pressure to end the war in the Middle East, while Washington continues to threaten potential strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
