Washington Condemns Violence Against Photographer
Israeli settler attacks in the West Bank during the olive harvest season sparked widespread violence, with a US photojournalist being beaten by settlers while covering assaults on Palestinian farmers. This prompted the US Department of State to issue condemnations and offer consular support to the journalist. The violence has increased since the outbreak of the war in Gaza in 2023, with Palestinians being targeted almost daily. Additionally, the Trump administration reduced sanctions against Israeli settlers in response to the escalation of these attacks.
