Brighton Sets Highlights in Big Palace Win
Brighton achieved a historic beginning to the 2026-2027 English Premier League season with a resounding 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the seventh round. They scored three goals in the first 10 minutes, including an own goal and a strike from Diego Gomes from midfield, as well as Yasin Ayari. With this, Brighton became the ninth team in Premier League history to score three goals in the opening 10 minutes of a match, and the first since Newcastle against Tottenham in April 2023. Gomis also scored from 51 meters out, making it the longest-distance goal scored in the league since Wayne Roney's 58-meter strike in 2017. Thanks to these remarkable results, Brighton currently sit second in the table with 16 points, boasting the strongest attack and defense in the league, having scored 23 goals and conceded only 5.
