The Gulf Cooperation Council summit focused on designating the Houthi movement as a terrorist entity and halting support that enables them to acquire missiles and drones. It also condemned the ongoing attacks on Saudi Arabia and the targeting of its vital facilities, affirming the Kingdom's right to self-defense. The council held Iran responsible for these assaults, calling for accountability and compensation for the damage caused. The summit emphasized the importance of safeguarding navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and restoring freedom of passage. The statement advocates for a political solution to the Yemeni crisis and underscores the necessity of enforcing an arms embargo and supporting efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region.
