Zakharaova condemns Western double standards
The article addresses Russia's criticism of the double standards employed by the West in assessing protests. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova expressed that Western countries condemn protests in some countries for repressing demonstrations and call for strict measures, yet they either ignore or remain silent when other cities face violence. She pointed out that France is experiencing widespread protests against rising fuel prices and declining purchasing power, which have led to acts of violence, while Paris expresses firm condemnation, whereas other countries tend to avoid doing so. Zakharova emphasized the need for a unified standards in evaluating such events and urged Western policies to be consistent and to treat human rights fairly, warning against Western interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states.
