Iranian Defense Minister schedules heavy fighter jet test
Iranian Defense Minister Mehdi Akhavan announced that the country will conduct a test of its locally-made heavy fighter jet in 2027, with ground tests beginning in 2026. The fighter, which is the first of its kind in Iran, has been fully designed and manufactured by the Air Industries Organization under the Ministry of Defense. The goal is to enhance Iran's air defense capabilities and counter potential threats, especially in light of increasing American and Israeli support aimed at applying military pressure on Iran.
