Ukraine: Russia-China-USA Summit May Widen Conflict
The proposal to hold a trilateral summit between Russia, China, and the United States comes within the context of Moscow's efforts to negotiate an end to the Ukrainian war. However, Ukrainian officials warn that such a initiative could encourage President Putin to prolong the conflict. Putin suggested holding the summit during a phone call with Trump, aiming to negotiate terms that serve Moscow's interests, on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit scheduled for November. While the United States is still considering the idea, this initiative faces criticism from Kyiv, which sees it as bolstering Russia's position and strengthening its hold in the war.
