French PM warns of possible emergency declaration
France is experiencing riots and violent protests due to rising living costs and declining public services. Authorities have announced the detention of around 2,400 people and the injury of about a thousand security forces personnel since the protests began. Amid these events, Prime Minister Sebastian Lecornu indicated that the government may declare a state of emergency if necessary, with the possibility of imposing a curfew to combat chaos. Previously, the Minister of Interior resigned, but President Macron rejected the resignation to maintain security continuity and asked the minister to develop new plans to address acts of violence and gaps in intelligence preparedness.
