England Women Coach Wiegman Extends Contract
The England Women's national team management has renewed coach Sarina Wiegman's contract until summer 2029, following her success in leading the team to win the UEFA Women's Euro 2025, which secured the team's second consecutive European championship title and made them the first English women's team to win a major tournament outside of Britain. During her leadership, the team achieved significant milestones, including reaching the 2023 Women's World Cup final and appearing in five consecutive international finals, solidifying Wiegman's status as one of the most prominent coaches in the history of women's football. The contract extension comes as part of her strategic plan to help achieve future successes, especially with a focus on the 2024 World Cup qualifiers in Brazil, where the team aims to achieve yet another accomplishment that cements its international standing.
