British report: Tanker clash with military near Oman
The news reports a new maritime incident near Oman, where the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) received a report of an attack involving a tanker and military forces as part of ongoing military activity in the region, with investigations still underway. Video footage also showed debris floating in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz following the sinking of a container ship. Iran and Oman may have reached an agreement regarding navigation through the strait, which could be registered with the International Maritime Organization. Additionally, a petroleum tanker was pursued by a drone while attempting to cross the strait. Iran links the timing of opening the strait to Washington's commitments, despite an understanding with Oman on safe passages.
