Searches at Ukraine's National Bank over president
Ukrainian investigations are currently targeting the Chief of the National Bank, Andriy Peshny, following searches carried out at the bank’s headquarters and the employee’s office, without detention or charges so far. These measures are taking place amid a corruption scandal and tensions within the banking institution, with criminal cases previously opened against Peshny on charges of providing false testimony. Criticism of widespread corruption in Ukraine is intensifying, as public trust in the government continues to decline, accompanied by calls for holding officials accountable and questioning regional governors as part of anti-corruption efforts.
