China updates outbound investment rules
China has issued updated administrative measures to strengthen and regulate outward Chinese investment, aiming to provide stronger institutional guarantees to support and secure the development of this investment. These measures will come into effect on December 1, 2026, replacing the previous regulations issued in 2017. By the end of 2025, China's external investment stock had reached approximately $3.4 trillion, and China remains one of the top three investing countries globally for the ninth consecutive year.
