UAE rises to top 10 in Government Support Index 2026
The UAE has made significant progress in the 2026 "Government Support Index," climbing from 16th to 10th place worldwide. This achievement is part of its efforts to reach the target set for 2026 of entering the top 10 countries. The index measures government support as a percentage of gross domestic product (GDP), which decreased from 0.55% in 2025 to 0.43% in 2026. This reflects greater efficiency in leveraging public expenditure and achieving a larger economic impact. The Minister of Finance affirms that this progress demonstrates the resilience of the UAE's economic and financial system and its success in balancing economic stimulus with efficiency, while continuing to develop national financial data to enhance fiscal sustainability and solidify the UAE's position as a global economic and financial hub.
