Apple's Impact on Foldable Phones
Apple has begun selling its new foldable phone, the "iPhone Duo," which is the company's first of its kind. There is much anticipation about whether it will reshape the foldable phone market as it did with smartphones. The demand for the phone has been exceptional, leading to delivery delays into late January due to the high demand, reflecting its early success. Reviews have indicated that the phone's design is sturdy and features a durable hinge, despite some compromises such as the absence of a zoom lens, and some apps requiring adjustments to fit the new screen. Market forecasts suggest that by 2026, Apple will control 44% of the market value and 31% of units sold, with expectations that it will become the market leader in both value and units sold by 2027.
