Canada aims to build a reactor in Turkey
A Canadian company, Atkinson Realis, is competing to build a third nuclear power plant in Turkey, facing competition from South Korean, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese firms. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Canada's chances of winning the project have improved and that a final decision is expected to be made before the end of the year. This competition is part of efforts to boost the strategic partnership between Turkey and Canada, which includes cooperation in energy, trade, defense collaboration, and supply chain development, with a focus on utilizing Canadian heavy-water-cooled nuclear reactor technology.
