West Bank Shooting Kills 2 Palestinians
Two Palestinians were killed and five Israelis injured in a shooting operation targeting the city of Hebron in the West Bank. The attack was carried out by two armed individuals who used two types of weapons: an M16 rifle and a pistol. The assailants exchanged gunfire with Israeli military forces, which imposed a security cordon around the city and its villages and continued their operations in the area. According to sources, the attackers arrived at the scene in a vehicle with an Israeli yellow license plate, with one of them carrying a long gun and the other a pistol; they attempted to flee before being killed. The assault was followed by a significant escalation in security measures, with Israeli forces intensifying security efforts and conducting arrests. The operation was interpreted as a response to ongoing hostilities, and Hamas praised the attack, describing it as a strong message to the occupier. This operation is part of a continued security escalation in the West Bank, where more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023 by Israeli forces and settlers.
