Qatari mediators traveled to Tehran on Monday evening to hold talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi about a possible agreement with the United States, following eight days of negotiations. Araghchi said intensive consultations were taking place through Qatar and Pakistan to avoid a resumption of fighting, while Donald Trump said he believed an agreement could be reached. Tehran announced it was prepared to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within two days, provided Washington met its demands, although the United States had not ruled out resuming strikes.
