Sudan Army Takes Key Area
The Sudanese army announced Tuesday that it had taken control of the strategic area of Umm Marahiik in West Kordofan state after clashes with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), saying the RSF had suffered losses. The area lies on the border between West and North Kordofan states and serves as a hub for supply routes. In South Kordofan, a drone struck a fuel station in the city of Al-Abbasiya, destroying it and sparking a fire that killed and injured people. A local civilian platform attributed the attack to the RSF. Authorities and the forces had not commented immediately.
