The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that it had destroyed four oil tankers, saying they had violated restrictions and attempted to cross a passage south of the Strait of Hormuz. It said the tankers had struck a sea mine and were still burning, and that it had detained two other vessels. It also said it had shot down a U.S. MQ-9 drone over the strait at 4:30 a.m., describing it as the 56th drone it had targeted.
