On Thursday, November 5, Xinhua News Agency unveiled the world’s first humanoid robot news anchor at the 7th World Media Summit in Beijing, in partnership with UBTECH. Arab media professionals attending the summit welcomed the move, saying it opens up new ways to deliver news and engage with audiences, speeds up coverage, and gives journalists more time for investigative reporting and analysis. They stressed that the robot is a supporting tool, not a replacement for people, and that editorial responsibility and building public trust remain the work of human journalists.
