Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held phone calls on Thursday with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, and his Qatari counterpart, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. They discussed regional developments and diplomatic efforts to ease tensions. The calls came amid fears of renewed war between Tehran and Washington and stalled negotiations mediated by Qatar. A regional source said the Republicans’ defeat in the midterm elections had reduced the risk of a new war.
