Donald Trump expressed confidence in Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, saying he is doing “a great job,” as Republican Representative Thomas Massie plans to bring a vote to remove him next week. The vote is expected to pass, and House Republicans are also expected to vote on a resolution condemning Hegseth’s performance. Trump claimed that U.S. forces had suffered no fatalities for six or seven months, but Pentagon records indicate that 18 service members have been killed since the war with Iran began on February 28. They include four troops killed in July and a Navy pilot who died when a helicopter crashed in the Arabian Sea.
