Mohammed bin Abdul Rabbo Al-Yami, Director General of the Union of OIC News Agencies, said the World Media Summit is an important platform for deepening dialogue, strengthening cooperation among media organizations, and creating more opportunities for participation by countries of the Global South. The seventh summit is being held in Beijing from November 5 to 9 under the theme “Media in the Age of Intelligence: From Alignment to Action,” with a focus on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, content exchange, and capacity building. Al-Yami noted that AI offers opportunities in data analysis, translation, verification, and content production, but also raises concerns about disinformation, credibility, intellectual property, and data privacy. He called for media cooperation to establish standards for responsible use and combat misinformation.
