American rapper Macklemore said that nine major venues in the United States, including Madison Square Garden in New York and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, had declined to book dates for his “Free Palestine” tour through the end of the year. He said the refusals were prompted by objections to his pro-Palestinian statements. MSG Entertainment, meanwhile, said its venues had limited availability and that Macklemore “isn’t an arena-level artist.” He has performed three shows on the tour in Dublin, Paris and London to raise funds for organizations supporting Palestinians, and plans to stage additional shows.
