Heavy rain, flooding and strong winds caused damage in several Arab countries. In Gaza, around 70,000 tents were flooded within 12 hours, with preliminary losses estimated at about $3 million. Civil defense teams received 1,500 distress calls, with no fatalities reported. In Iraq, two people died in the floods, while in Syria floodwaters swept away a young man who tried to cross them by swimming, and damaged homes and roads. Meteorological agencies warned that unstable weather and new low-pressure systems would continue, bringing rain, flooding and strong winds to parts of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt and Oman.
