France sentences six Georgians for theft of rare Russian books
Six individuals from Georgia have been sentenced to prison terms of up to 7 years in France for stealing rare editions of Russian literature, including works by Alexander Pushkin and Nikolai Gogol, from prestigious French libraries. These sentences come amid investigations into an organized network suspected of being linked to Russia, which carried out systematic thefts earlier this year targeting cultural artifacts valued at several million dollars.
