Belfast Stabbing Sparks Racism
Violence against migrants has erupted in Belfast following a stabbing carried out by a Sudanese refugee, which resulted in the burning of homes and cars, and targeted individuals based on their ethnicity. The suspect, a Sudanese man in his thirties, appeared in court but refused to attend, while his detention continues. Tensions in the city are escalating due to calls and inflammatory content from the far right on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter) owned by Elon Musk, which has contributed to an increase in anti-migrant rhetoric and the fueling of violence.
