Gaza photographers earn Golden Pen for documenting genocide
Photographers and video directors from the Gaza Strip have received the "Golden Pen for Freedom" Award for 2026 from the Global Association of Newspapers and News Publishers, in recognition of their efforts to document the ongoing Israeli war and the risks they face in conveying the truth despite the prohibition of entry for foreign journalists. The award ceremony will be held in Marseille, and these journalists express pride in the role they play in creating global change through their images and films. This award also acknowledges the sacrifices made by Palestinian journalists, as over 220 of them have been martyred since the start of the war.
