The clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah revolve around control of the Ali Al-Tahir Hill near Nabatieh. This is a strategic site overlooking the city and extending toward the Gilead settlements in Israel. The Israeli efforts are focused on advancing toward the hill, which is believed to contain tunnels and military facilities belonging to Hezbollah, with the aim of establishing control over it or at least neutralizing it. Experts consider that gaining control of the hill would provide the ability to monitor the area broadly and represents an important step in targeting Hezbollah's infrastructure, with possibilities that Israel might withdraw after destroying the facilities if it does not seek to establish a permanent presence in the region.
