Iraji indicates near agreement with Shiite duo including Lebanon
The article focuses on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's escalation of his war against Lebanon, as he seeks to expand military operations to include towns in the northern Litani River region. This step may be a reaction to Iran and Hezbollah's announcement of an imminent agreement to halt the war across all fronts. The analysis indicates that this expansion is part of Israel's attempt to impose a new reality on the ground, linking it to an effort to incorporate the designated testing zone where forces are expected to deploy after Hezbollah's withdrawal. Lebanese officials express concerns that this escalation aims to define Israel's sphere of influence and bolster the security of settlements. It also precedes potential negotiations mediated by the U.S. to establish security arrangements to end hostilities between Lebanon and Israel.
